Baccalaureate Speaker

Jeff Thompson, Ph.D.

 

 
 

Northern Caribbean University is pleased to welcome to its pulpit, President of the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Dr. Jeffrey Kevin Thompson.
 

A graduate of Northern Caribbean University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Dr Thompson received his Masters Degree at the Andrews University and went on to earn a Ph.D in Conflict Management from the Trinity Theological Seminary.

In his effort to spread the gospel, Pastor Thompson is speaker on the “Steps to Christ” Radio which broadcasts in the Cayman Islands and has established the Cayman Adventist TV Network. He has authored the books “The Rise of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands” and “Exuma Historical Pictorial Guide”. He has also written numerous articles in the “Adventist Review” and is Editor for the magazine “Echo” (Cayman Island Conference).

Additionally, Dr. Thompson is Coordinator for the Cayman Islands Conference NBA Summer Basketball Camp. He has pastored churches in the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands. To date, Dr. Thompson has performed over 1,000 baptisms and has

officiated evangelistic crusades in countries such as the United States, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. He was also instrumental in the implementation of two churches each in the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.

 

A devoted man of God, Dr. Thompson is married with three children and has received numerous awards from significant religious, social, and academic organizations including an award from the American Biological Institute. He also sits on the Cayman Academy and Northern Caribbean University Board of Governors, the Cayman Islands Conference and West Indies Union Executive Committees and the Andrews Memorial
Hospital Board.


The University welcomes Dr. Thompson, who will deliver the Baccalaureate address to this year’s graduating class on Saturday, August 13, 2005.
